Welcome to Zaragoza!
Zaragoza, capital of the region and former kingdom of Aragón in north-eastern Spain, is the fourth city of Spain in economic activity. Four different cultures have determined the personality of the city and its architectural heritage: Romans, Christians, Jews and Muslims. Its privileged situation, at equal distance from cities as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao, has turned the city into an important logistic centre. In 2008 the city hosted the International Exposition on Water and Sustainable Development. The city’s infrastructure in general and its hospitality facilities were vastly improved thanks to this event. Besides the city’s new hotels of contemporary design, the Aragón region prides itself on a traditional gastronomy based on the rich and diverse agricultural production of the Ebro valley.
